ADVERSITY & JESUS CHRIST

A young woman named Anne Steele had encountered one trial & disappointment after another.
Her mother died when she was 3 & when she was 19 she suffered a severe hip injury that left her an invalid.
Eventually she fell in love & was engaged to be married, but the day before the wedding her fiance drowned.

Later, Anne Steele penned the following song:

"Father, whate’er of earthly bliss Thy sovereign will denies,
Accepted at Thy throne of grace, let this petition rise:
Give me a calm, a thankful heart, from every murmur free!
The blessings of Thy grace impart, and make me live for Thee."

- Robert J. Morgan (ministry127.com)

“Adversity and Jesus Christ.” -  J. C. Penney (when asked the reason for his success)

Jas 1:2-4 (ISV): "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you are involved in various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But you must let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing."
